BEACH 2021

EDITORIAL SERIES SHOWING THE NATURAL BEAUTY IN THE LANDSCAPE, DRESS, AND MODEL.
THE SCENES ARE SET AROUND THE HAND MADE DRESS, CAPTURING THE COLOURS IN THE DRESS AND MIMICKING THEM IN THE LOCATION.

Inspired by a connection between fashion and environmental landscape, the dress design takes a look at natural arid landscapes, dry summer river beds, and shrubbery in the Ethiopian landscape.
As a cultural study undertaken in the Curtin University fashion course, the project applies natural dying using a Shibori technique to obtain a flowing river-like pattern down the bodice, which is then mimicked in the photographed sand landscape around the model.
